Question: If John had any sort of physical relationship with Sholto, do you think he told Mary? Mary’s comment to Sherlock about “Neither of us were the first, you know” is very leading. There are things you tell your significant other that you don’t tell your best friend, especially not your supposedly virgin best friend who never mentions sex and also you are in love with.

i’m not entirely convinced that he “mentioned him all the time” to mary in the first place. i think mary possibly did some background digging and found out about sholto and was just saying that to make sherlock upset.

I have also considered the possibility that talking about Sherlock (at all to anyone) was just too painful for John. So he never talked about Sherlock when Mary was there. And when he would remember something Sherlock had done or said that made him smile, or laugh, or tear up, and Mary would ask what he was thinking about, say penny for your thoughts, John would clear his throat and throw out a story about Sholto, something that fit the mood he was in, a relic from his army days, something that still was happy enough or funny enough or cutting enough to manifest whatever emotion had been painted across his face.

Maybe he did talk about Sholto all the time, never shut up about him… But only because he was ALWAYS thinking about Sherlock. Always. And just couldn’t bring himself to share that with Mary.

listen, after the kiss sherlock will wrap his arms around john’s waist and john will cup sherlock’s face with both hands and pull away a bit and they’ll just stare at each other and after a few seconds they’ll simultaneously start giggling alsdkfjslkfjs and they’ll be so close and it’ll be the most blissful moment and then, when they catch their breath, they will kiss again and the credits will roll and i will drop dead okay

Their noses will touch while they’re giggling and John will just lightly brush the ends of them together and Sherlock will get really quiet for a second because God this is really happening and John is so tender and that one little gesture will just make Sherlock’s lil heart skip a beat and they’ll rest their foreheads together and grin and giggle and Sherlock won’t be able to stop himself from reaching up to touch John’s laughing mouth just because he’s always wanted to see what John’s laughter feels like under his fingers and the minute he touches John’s lip, John will sigh and tilt his head and then they’ll be kissing again and I will also be dead

So what if :))) when Garridebs happens :)))))) we see John, standing a bit afar, realising what’s about to happen, Sherlock is in danger :))))))))))))))))))))) and a close up on his eyes, he doesn’t think about it for even a second :))))) and as he starts running towards the scene to throw himself in front of the bullet :))))))) we get the third time where he desperately screams at the top of his lungs,

“SHERLOCK!!!”
