okay teenlock where small nerd sherlock pines from afar after the amazing rugby captain john watson is fun but have u considered
- john and sherlock met ages ago and have actually been really good friends since like primary school, they do so much together, they get on so well
- completely platonic study sessions in sherlock’s room, going out for pizza after rugby matches or ballet recitals and it’s 100% platonic
- and john flirts with girls all the time and sometimes guys too and sherlock’s so supportive of him figuring out his sexuality and sherlock will even voluntarily deduce people for john to see if they’re worth asking out for dinner
- and sherlock just sort of keeps to himself except one day he notices someone, and it’s ages after that before john actually notices that he’s noticed someone
- suddenly john’s so very very jealous of the bloke sherlock’s noticed but he doesn’t even know it, he just knows he’s uncomfortable seeing the two of them together, and he makes up reasons why he can’t double date with them on friday nights
- and suddenly it hits him like a brick wall, he’s in love with sherlock, except it’s too late to do anything about it because now sherlock’s spoken for, and they were just friends anyway, how could they have been more?
- except sherlock’s only settled for this other guy because john’s never been interested him in that way; sherlock’s not an idiot, he would have noticed if the kid he spent all his time with was interested in him romantically
- they do so much together in a completely platonic way and they’re such good friends that it takes them forever to realise that they’re in love with the other and by then how are they supposed to do anything about it because they’ve each got some other significant other and why would the other be interested in them in that way at all
